Onepu Moana is a 1970s house that’s been fully renovated and extensively refurbished. Upstairs is a 3-bedroom home with entertainer’s kitchen and open-plan lounge with 8-seater dining-table, leading out to a large deck with 10-seater table, recliners, BBQ and uninterrupted water views.Downstairs is newly created 3-bedroomed self-contained ground-floor, with generous kitchenette, roomy lounge, 8-seater dining-table, and outside terrace off the kitchen with SpaPool, another BBQ, octagonal wooden table, and some pretty lovely water views.
Kia Ora (hello) and haere mai (welcome) to Hokianga-Nui-A-Kupe, meaning “the place of Kupe’s great return”, these days known as the HOKIANGA, located on the dramatic West Coast of Northland … about 3 hours south of NZ’s northernmost tip at Cape Reinga, and only about an hour or so away from the east coast tourism mecca of the Bay of Islands (Paihia & Kerikeri) – and all of these locations are part of the Far North district … there’s not many countries you can drive from its West Coast beaches to its East Coast beaches in one hour!
The Hokianga (“the returning place”) is one of the most relatively unspoilt parts of Aotearoa (NZ), with natural beauty here that is unlike anywhere else in the country.
We are so pleased you are considering staying at Onepu Moana (“sandy sea”), pronounced Or-neh-poo Mo-arna.
